1 year ago, I lost my mother to lung cancer. It has been one of the toughest year yet. This is a visual diary of the past year. Everything that I wished my mom got to see. All of these images can be found on my Instagram.

It’s good to be back in the city. Surrounded by familiar sights, the cool fall breeze, and the warmth of friends a plenty. This evening I had the pleasure of seeing a lot of faces I haven’t seen in a long while. I saw my friends in Venna. I love these guys and I love their music. Anyone who enjoys a folkie fun band, should check them out!!

Spent some time back in the city. I’ve missed this place. It’s big enough for me to disappear. Big enough to hide from some of the stuff I’ve been desperately needing to escape from. Had some good times and reconnected with some old friends. I’ll be back to this city, soon enough.

It’s that time of year again. One of the more exciting times for the town of Belvidere and for Northern Illinois. It’s the Boone County Fair. I’ve been going to the fair for the last 14 years or so and I think I’ll probably be going for the rest of my life. Love it. Here are some photos from my adventures.

It’s getting harder and harder to come back to this “home” after every trip. Nothing and no one waiting for me. The calling of change beckons louder with each passing day. I’m hoping on a wish that something will happen. I need anything to happen. I need a sign.

While in NYC, I was commissioned to do some catalogue shots for an artist’s hand made necklace collection and a few hats. I also met a model named Betty. The day’s shoot was relaxing and definitely something out of the ordinary for me. The full collection of photos will be on the web as soon as the website launches! More info on that later!

While visiting NYC, I’ve gotten the great pleasure of hanging out and getting lost with my good buddy, AJ Sapala. He and I attended RMCAD - Denver together a few years back. We’ve worked on a few projects together and I’ve been obsessively following his work ever since. His dark sense of humor and expression into art is unlike anyone else’s. He is truly a unique artist. His style and use of color evokes so much emotion and pushes the boundaries of the “uncomfortable”. Check out his work, you’re sure to have SOME sort of opinion! Love this guy. Thanks, AJ for a great time so far in New York!

My best friend and fellow artist from the West Coast, Benjamin Blascoe, was in town celebrating his mothers 60th birthday this week. As usual everyone dropped what they were doing and things fell back into place as they were many years ago. Good times were had by all. Always good to see this guy.
